Weather and time
This camera looks down on a narrow paved road along a wooded slope in Kibune, the mountain hamlet around Kifune Shrine in northern Kyoto. Dense maple foliage fills the right side of the frame while walkers follow the road.
Kifune Shrine stands in the Kibune river valley at the foot of Mount Kurama in Sakyo Ward and is dedicated to the god of water. The hamlet is reached by bus or on foot up the valley from Kibuneguchi Station on the Eizan Railway. In summer the riverside restaurants serve meals on platforms over the river.
The camera is fixed above the road, with a utility pole and a bend at the upper left and a guardrail along the slope at the right. The shrine buildings are not in the frame; the view is of the village road, where visitors pass in small groups.
