Weather and time
Mailáth Castle in Donji Miholjac rises above a broad lawn, with a round corner tower on the left and a tall square tower on the right. A gravel path lined with young trees and an ornate two-lantern street lamp crosses the grass in front.
The castle was built in 1903–1906 for the Mailáth counts to a design by István Möller, who mixed neo-Gothic forms with elements of the English Tudor style. It stands beside the older single-storey Baroque Prandau castle. Today it houses offices of the town administration. Donji Miholjac lies on the Drava in Slavonia, close to the border with Hungary.
The camera looks across the lawn from under the eaves of a neighbouring building and takes in the whole front, from a roofed passage on the left to the lower wing on the right. The castle catches the morning sun, framed by tall trees of the castle park.
