Weather and time
This camera overlooks the Stachelberg artillery fortress at Babí near Trutnov, with a camouflaged concrete bunker beside a path. Beyond the green meadow, wooded hills and a long ridge fill the horizon.
Stachelberg was built in the 1930s as part of the Czechoslovak border defences against Nazi Germany. The fortress museum describes it as the largest modern fortress in Bohemia, with more than three kilometres of underground corridors reaching about 52 metres below the surface. The bunker in the frame is only a small part of the complex, which is open to visitors on guided tours.
The camera looks across the meadow from a height. Steel anti-tank hedgehogs stand in front of the bunker and on the meadow, a lattice mast rises beside the path, and a few benches dot the grass. Wind turbines are visible on a distant slope.
