Weather and time

This camera looks along the Omotesando approach to Fushimi Inari Taisha in Fushimi Ward, southern Kyoto. A tall vermilion torii stands at the left, with a stone lantern and a carved shrine marker beside the path.

Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine of the Inari faith and stands at the foot of Mount Inari. It was founded in 711 according to tradition and is famous for the thousands of vermilion torii on its mountain trails. Omotesando is the main approach leading toward the shrine's tower gate.

The camera looks down on the paved approach from a raised position, with the stone lantern on its red stand and a tile-roofed wall in the lower part of the view. A car park lies behind the wall, and wooded hills rise along the horizon.
