Weather and time
This camera looks across the Monongahela River from the Irvin Plant grounds in West Mifflin, a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A tree-lined bank runs along the water, with power-line towers on the wooded hillside behind it.
The Monongahela flows north through the Pittsburgh area and joins the Allegheny to form the Ohio River at the Point. Here it is a wide working waterway, and barges can be seen moored along the far bank. Bald eagles nest on the plant grounds, and other cameras nearby watch the nest itself.
Unlike the close nest views, this angle shows no nest, only the river, the shoreline and the far hillside. The camera is re-aimed from time to time, so the shot can be a wide look along the tree line or a tighter one that takes in the moored barges on the right.
