Glen Hazel Bald Eagle Nest, Pittsburgh Live Cam

This camera looks up at a bald eagle nest high in a tree above the Monongahela River in the Glen Hazel neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The bowl of sticks sits among the branches and leaves, with a patch of sky showing above.

The nest belongs to the pair of bald eagles that lived for years at Hays. Their old nest fell from its tree in August 2024, and the pair rebuilt about a mile upriver, on the far side of the Monongahela from Homestead. The valley around it is steep and wooded, with rail lines and former industrial land, only a few miles from downtown Pittsburgh.

This is a close view from below, and the framing stays the same from day to day. Branches and leaves cross the frame and partly hide the nest, which shows most clearly where the foliage is thin.
