Cruz Bay Overlook, Pillsbury Sound Live Cam

This panoramic camera looks down on Cruz Bay and Pillsbury Sound from a hillside above Saint John in the US Virgin Islands. Moored boats fill the bay, low cays lie across the sound, and the hills of Saint Thomas rise on the far side of the water.

Cruz Bay is the main town and ferry port of Saint John, and Pillsbury Sound is the channel that separates the island from Saint Thomas. The camera stands in the Bethany area, about a kilometre east of the Cruz Bay waterfront, so the town and its harbour lie below the lens.

The camera turns through several views. One looks west over the bay and town toward Saint Thomas, another follows the wooded ridge east to small cays on the horizon, and a third faces south over open water and the coves of the island's southern shore. Villa roofs and palm fronds appear in the foreground in some of them.
