Welland Canal Bridge 21, Port Colborne Live Cam

This camera looks across the Welland Canal at Bridge 21, a lift bridge with two steel towers in downtown Port Colborne, Ontario. The view takes in the road deck, the stone canal wall and the houses on the far bank.

The Welland Canal carries ships around Niagara Falls between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, and Port Colborne stands at its Lake Erie end. Lake freighters and ocean-going vessels use the canal, and the bridge raises its deck between the towers so that tall ships can pass. The bridge carries Clarence Street over the water.

The camera stands on the west bank and usually holds one view aimed east-northeast at the bridge. A lantern-style lamp post and the old stone wall frame the foreground, with trees along the grass bank and the approach road on the left. On some days it turns along the canal instead.
