Weather and time
This camera watches a bald eagle nest in the Cayuga Pool marsh of Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge in western New York. The view changes between a close shot of the stick nest and wider scenes of a pond and the marsh.
Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge lies between Rochester and Buffalo and was established in 1958 as a resting and feeding area for migratory waterfowl. Its roughly 10,800 acres combine forested wetlands, marshes and grasslands. Cayuga Pool is a wetland in the western part of the refuge, where bald eagles have returned to the same nest in most years since the early 2000s.
In the nest view, a platform of sticks sits among the branches of a pale-barked tree, with marsh grass behind it. Other views look over a pond edged with reeds and across the open marsh to a line of woods.
