HoliMont Sunset Lift, Ellicottville Live Cam

This camera at HoliMont, a private ski club 2 km west of Ellicottville in western New York, faces the base of the Sunset chairlift. A gravel track curves across the lawn to the blue lift station, and lift towers climb an open trail up the wooded hill.

HoliMont began in 1962 as a club of 13 families and is now the largest private ski area in North America by membership. Its name was coined from the phrase Holiday Mountain. Day tickets are sold to visitors on non-holiday weekdays, and from late spring to autumn the Sunset chair also carries mountain bikers up to lift-served trails.

The view runs south up the slope along the lift line. A small hut and a fenced loading area stand beside the station, chalets dot the hillside on the right, and a dark wooden building and hardwoods fill the left side. In winter skiers come down this trail to the lift.
