Weather and time
This camera is mounted at Chitose Bridge on the Myoshoji River in Numabukuro, Nakano, and looks across the channel rather than along it. The opposite bank is a wall of stone blocks topped by a fence, with a striped gauge staff fixed to its face.
Numabukuro Nishi Park is only about 50 m to the west, and Heiwa no Mori Park lies roughly 250 m to the east. Heiwa no Mori Elementary School is around 200 m to the south-east, and Numabukuro Station about 500 m to the north-east. Farther downstream the Myoshoji River runs through Shinjuku to meet the Kanda River.
In the foreground, the bridge's railing and sunlit paving cut across the lower part of the frame, with small weeds growing at their foot. Through the railing you can glimpse the channel floor and the water, which makes this a view of the wall and the gauge staff more than of the flowing river.
