Weather and time
This camera watches the Kanda River at Kashiwa Bridge in Shinjuku, looking across the channel at a grey block-faced retaining wall. A slim gauge scale hangs on the wall above the dark water.
The station is in the Kita-Shinjuku 3-chome district, where the riverside path Kandagawa Shiki-no-Michi runs about 40 m away. Okubo-dori Avenue lies roughly 80 m off, Kita-Shinjuku Library about 170 m, and Kashiwagi Elementary School some 280 m. Higashi-Nakano Station on the JR Chuo Line is a walk of around 500 m. The Kanda River flows east to meet the Sumida River.
The camera sits right beside the bridge, so the slanted underside and pale edge of the concrete deck take up the right half of the view. A brown railing runs along it, with orange-and-white posts marking the road above.
