Weather and time
This camera watches the Myoshoji River beside the Ochiai Retarding Basin in Shinjuku, where the channel bends between two walls of stone blocks. A road bridge with a patterned railing crosses on the left, and a ladder is fixed to the wall on the right.
The station is in the Nakai 1-chome district, close to the border with Nakano. The retarding basin beside the river holds water during heavy rain. Nakano Fifth Junior High School and the Seibu Shinjuku Line are both within 50 m, Ochiai Park is about 80 m away, and Goryo Shrine about 160 m. The river flows east from Myoshoji Pond in Suginami.
The view stands out for its bend: the water curves away to the left under the bridge, with a smooth wall on the left bank and a rough stone wall on the right. White posts line the walkway above the left bank.
