Weather and time
This camera looks across the Kanda River at Minami Otaki Bridge in Higashi-Nakano, Nakano, toward a tall retaining wall hung with ivy. A blue pipe runs along the underside of the bridge on the left, beside a colour-coded water gauge.
The station is in the Higashi-Nakano 5-chome district, where a riverside footpath follows the Kanda River and the Kita-Shinjuku district of Shinjuku lies on the far side. Keyaki Park and a junior high school stand within about 100 m, and Ochiai and Higashi-Nakano stations are each about 450 m away. The Kanda River rises in Inokashira Pond in Mitaka and flows about 24 km east to the Sumida River.
The wall is built of stone blocks, with a steel climbing ladder beside the gauge and a red flood danger marker on the wall. Water runs quietly along its foot, and fallen leaves lie on a concrete apron at the lower right.
