Weather and time
This camera watches a concrete-lined stretch of the Kanda River at Wadami Bridge in Wada, Suginami, in front of a tall plain retaining wall. Two water gauges stand against the wall, one with red and white stripes and one slim pole with a red flood danger marker.
The camera stands in the Wada 1-chome district, about 200 m from the point where the Zenpukuji River joins the Kanda River. Renge Park is about 60 m away, Nakano-Fujimicho Station on the Marunouchi Line about 260 m, and a metropolitan high school about 300 m. From here the Kanda River continues east through Nakano and Shinjuku toward the Sumida River.
Wide sloped concrete aprons flank the channel, with shrubs and cable runs along the top of the wall. A narrow concrete divider cuts through the foreground, and the water below it looks green and clear in daylight.
