Weather and time
This camera looks straight down onto the Iruma River at Wakaba-cho in Chofu, Tokyo, a small tributary of the Nogawa. Water runs through a narrow concrete channel, seen between parallel concrete beams.
The station stands in Wakaba-cho 3-chome, in a residential and school area, with Chofu No. 4 Junior High School right beside it. Tsutsujigaoka and Sengawa stations are about a kilometre away. The river, also called Nakasengawa, joins the Nogawa near Iruma-cho in Chofu, and a flood diversion channel of it lies a little over 500 m to the north-west.
The camera is mounted above the channel and faces downward, so the beams cross the frame diagonally and sunlight sparkles on the water between them. A staff gauge with red and yellow marks is fixed to the wall at the centre, half hidden by leaves, and shrubs hang over the right side.
