Great Square, Hradec Králové Live Cam

This camera looks west across the Great Square in Hradec Králové to the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, the White Tower and the Old Town Hall. Rows of parked cars fill the paved square, and colourful townhouses line both edges of the view.

Known in Czech as Velké náměstí, the square is the heart of the old town, on a low hill above the point where the Orlice joins the Elbe. The Gothic brick church in its south-west corner has been a cathedral since 1664. Beside it rises the 72-metre White Tower, built in 1574–1580 from pale sandstone that gave it its name.

From a house on the south side of the square, the fixed camera shows the green-roofed east end of the cathedral on the left, with the White Tower behind it. Across the parking rows stands the twin-towered town hall, between a pale green hotel and a yellow house with an arched doorway.
