Place du Marché, Munster Live Cam

The red sandstone Protestant church takes up one side of the Place du Marché in Munster, with the wooded Vosges rising behind the town. Stork nests sit on the roofs around it.

The church was completed in 1874 and repaired after damage in the First World War. White storks were reintroduced to Alsace from the 1970s and now nest on chimneys and towers across the valley, including the ones in this frame.

Markets fill the square on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. The ruins of the seventh-century abbey that gave the town its name, and gave the cheese made here its name in turn, stand a short walk from the webcam.
