Grant County Courthouse Live Cam

The Grant County Courthouse holds the middle of Lancaster, Wisconsin, its octagonal dome of glass and copper visible from every approach. The webcam looks across the square from the far side of the street.

The building went up in 1902 in Classical Revival style and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Lancaster took the nickname City of the Dome from it, and no later building in town has been allowed to compete with the outline.

On the lawn stands a Civil War soldiers' monument raised in 1867, among the earliest of its kind anywhere in the United States. The square around it serves as the parking and market ground for a county seat of about four thousand residents.
