Big Wood Lake Cove, Jackman Live Cam

The camera overlooks a small gravel beach and dock on Big Wood Lake at the edge of Jackman, in the Moose River Valley of western Maine. Across the water a low wooded island and a line of hills fill the horizon.

Jackman is a small town in Somerset County near the Canadian border, known for its lakes and logging roads. Big Wood Lake lies beside the town, and the shore in view has a lawn with a fire pit and wooden chairs, a children's slide, and several kayaks and a small boat drawn up on the stones.

The camera sits above the beach and looks out between the trees, so the foliage is close to the lens. The leaves go from summer green to the reds and yellows of October. A second Jackman camera on the same shore looks the other way, toward one broad hill on the far side of the lake.
