Weather and time
This camera looks over the gravel lot behind a Stratton store that serves as a game tagging station and an ATV and snowmobile trailhead. A tall wooden frame hung with antlers stands by picnic tables on the left, and a wall of mixed forest closes off the far side of the lot.
Maine requires hunters to register big game such as moose, deer and bear, and local businesses act as official tagging stations. The lot also links riders to a wide network of ATV and snowmobile trails and to the village of Stratton, part of the town of Eustis.
Facing the woods rather than Main Street, the view shows the working side of the village. During the autumn hunting seasons, harvested animals may appear as hunters bring them in; at other times the lot serves trail traffic, with ATVs in summer and snowmobiles in winter.
