Weather and time
This camera looks west across Moosehead Lake from a hillside meadow at Wildlands Barn on Lily Bay Road in Greenville, Maine. A mown slope lined with low stone walls drops toward spruce and birch woods, with wooded islands and far-shore hills beyond.
Moosehead Lake is the largest lake in Maine, up to 40 miles long and dotted with more than 80 islands. Greenville, at its southern end, is by far the largest town on the shore. Lily Bay Road leaves the town northward along the eastern side, where houses and inns stand on high ground above the water.
Unlike the views from the town at the south end of the lake, this camera stands high on the eastern side and takes in a broad sweep of open water. A long wooded island lies in the middle distance, and small islets sit near the left shore.
