Big Wood Lake Hill View, Jackman Live Cam

The camera looks over Big Wood Lake from a lawn and pebble beach in Jackman, Maine, toward a broad forested hill on the far shore. A tall flagpole with an American flag stands at the water's edge in the middle of the frame.

Jackman lies in the Moose River Valley of western Maine, an area of lakes, mountains and long logging roads that run toward the Canadian border. In the foreground there is a mown lawn with a picnic table, a few chairs and a red boat on the shore, and a white dock section resting on the grass at the right.

The view is wide and open, with the hill in the centre of the horizon and lower ridges on both sides. The slopes turn gold in autumn, and the lake ranges from flat grey under cloud to deep blue with small waves. It is a different angle from the other Jackman camera, which looks through trees toward a wooded island.
