Weather and time

This camera looks northeast across Flagstaff Lake from its western shore in Eustis, in the mountains of western Maine. A wooden dock lies on the grassy bank in front, and a low line of forest marks the far shore.

Flagstaff Lake is a reservoir formed in 1950, when the Long Falls Dam impounded the Dead River and flooded the old townships of Flagstaff and Bigelow. The Bigelow Range overlooks its southern shore, and the village of Stratton lies just to the south.

The view takes in a long stretch of open water, with a forested ridge rising at the right edge; at low water the dock rests on the exposed shore. A strip along the bottom shows the time with live temperature, wind, pressure and rainfall readings.
