Saint Peter's Church, Sittard Live Cam

This camera looks down on the choir of Saint Peter's Church in Sittard, with its carved wooden stalls and an altar on a red-carpeted platform. A stone Gothic pillar hung with an embroidered banner frames the left side, and a chequered stone floor runs between the stalls.

Also known as the Grote Kerk, the church stands on the Kerkplein in the old centre of Sittard, a few steps from the Markt. The Dutch monuments register describes it as a Gothic cruciform basilica built between the 13th and 16th centuries. Its 83-metre tower makes it the tallest church in Limburg.

Unlike the outdoor camera on the nearby market square, this view stays inside the church. During services the clergy can be seen at the altar, and at other times the camera shows the empty choir stalls around the altar.
