Gorilla Indoor Enclosure, GaiaZOO Live Cam

Indoor enclosure of the western lowland gorillas at GaiaZOO in Kerkrade, in the Dutch province of Limburg. The camera looks down from above on a timber climbing frame with ropes, dark platforms and a hay-strewn floor.

GaiaZOO is a zoo in the south of Limburg, close to the German border. The gorillas share their quarters with crested mangabeys, a small monkey species that now and then passes through the frame. The animals move between several indoor rooms and the outdoor area, so part of the time the enclosure may be empty.

The camera is fixed and always shows the same room. Poles and ropes cross the view, a hay-covered ledge runs along the far wall under two barred windows, and mesh-fronted doors lead to the neighbouring rooms. Gorillas rest on the platforms and the ledge, while the smaller monkeys climb on the ropes and posts.
