Weather and time
This camera looks along the roof edge of the ASML Tower in Veldhoven, where a peregrine falcon nest box sits high above the town. A grated landing platform juts out from the grey metal box, with industrial halls, a multi-lane road and houses beyond.
Peregrines are cliff breeders, and in the Netherlands they have adopted tall buildings as nest sites. Many reach the country from Scandinavia in autumn and fly north again in March, while some young birds stay on and may breed. The tower rises over the ASML campus in the east of Veldhoven, close to Eindhoven.
Where the sister camera inside the box watches the gravel scrape, this one stays outdoors and frames the box, its platform and a stretch of parapet. The grating gives the falcons a landing spot by the entrance. Tower blocks rise on the far horizon.
