Kanazawa Port Live Cam

Kanazawa Port lies at the mouth of the Ono river on the Sea of Japan coast of Honshu, in Ishikawa prefecture. The webcam looks over the quays, the silos and the fishing boats.

The city inland is where almost all of Japan's gold leaf is made, something like ninety-nine per cent of it. The damp air off this coast suits the beating, which has to be done without the leaf drying out and cracking.

Kanazawa was a castle town that came through the war without being bombed, so the samurai and geisha quarters are still standing. Kenrokuen, the garden beside the castle, is counted one of the three great gardens of the country.
