Inn Street Fountain, Newburyport Live Cam

Inn Street runs below this webcam through the centre of Newburyport, on the north coast of Massachusetts. A fountain of granite blocks fills the middle of the pedestrian mall, with benches and shopfronts around it.

The brick centre of the town dates from the nineteenth century, when Newburyport was a shipbuilding and trading port at the mouth of the Merrimack. Inn Street was pedestrianised during the restoration of the district in the 1970s, and the fountain works as a splash pad in summer.

Children play in the jets through the warm months and the same ground is bare stone in winter. Markets and outdoor concerts are held on the mall through the year.
