Inn Street Mall, Newburyport Live Cam

This camera looks along Inn Street Mall, a brick-paved pedestrian lane in the historic center of Newburyport, Massachusetts. Red-brick buildings with shop signs and black awnings line the right side, while tiered stone steps, bollards and trees fill the left.

The lane lies a short walk from Market Square, in the downtown district that was largely rebuilt in brick after the Great Fire of 1811. Its three-story commercial blocks have shops at street level and offices above, and no cars use the lane. A renewal effort in the 1970s turned the old center into the shopping and dining area it is today.

Unlike the Inn Street Fountain view, which looks down on the stone fountain area, this camera follows the lane past the shop doors, benches and a street lamp to the trees at its far end, so people walking through are easy to follow.
