Tiger Pool, Amersfoort Zoo Live Cam

A fixed, elevated view over a corner of the Siberian tiger enclosure at Amersfoort Zoo, with a shallow pool, boulders and old tree trunks. A brick-paved apron, patches of grass and dense bamboo and shrubs surround the water.

Amersfoort Zoo lies on the western side of Amersfoort in Utrecht province, at the edge of the Birkhoven woodland. It opened in 1948 and covers about 20 hectares of wooded grounds. The tiger enclosure sits near the middle of the park, close to the rhinoceros and camel exhibits.

This camera looks down on the pool from above, so the water surface, its curved concrete rim and the scattered rocks fill most of the frame. On the right, tall upright and leaning trunks stand beside a gnarled root stump. A second camera covers the wooded part of the same enclosure.
