Tachibana Bridge, Miyazaki Live Cam

This camera on the bank of the Oyodo River in Miyazaki looks across the water at the long Tachibana Bridge. A tall palm tree stands in the right foreground, and apartment blocks line the far shore beyond the bridge.

Tachibana Bridge carries National Routes 10 and 220 over the Oyodo, the main river of Miyazaki city, which runs east to the Pacific. The current bridge is the sixth on this spot, finished in 1979, with four lanes and a length of 389 meters. The first one was a wooden toll bridge built in 1880 by a local doctor.

The camera does not move, so every frame shows the same bridge, the grassy riverbank and a red-and-white checkered pier. What changes is the color of the water, the cloud over the city and the cars crossing the span as small moving shapes.
