Aso Volcano Museum, Kusasenri Live Cam

The roof of the Aso Volcano Museum in Kumamoto Prefecture looks out over Kusasenri meadow toward the Nakadake crater ridge of Mount Aso. A car park fills the foreground, with green pasture slopes and the volcanic skyline beyond.

Kusasenri-ga-hama is a grassy crater basin at the foot of Mount Eboshidake, one of the central peaks of the Aso caldera. Nakadake, the active crater of Mount Aso, rises to the east of it. The Aso Volcano Museum stands across the road from the meadow and presents the geology of the caldera.

The camera looks over the museum car park and the roof edge toward Nakadake, so the crater ridge sits on the horizon above the meadow. A steam plume can show above the ridge, while cloud and mist may cover the peaks and turn the sky white.
