Powderhorn II Chairlift, Solitude Live Cam

Powderhorn II is a chairlift whose lower terminal and loading gates stand close to the Roundhouse mid-mountain lodge at Solitude, Utah. The camera looks south up the line of towers as it climbs a basin, with a gravel service road curving across the left of the frame.

Solitude lies in Big Cottonwood Canyon in the Wasatch Range east of Salt Lake City, and the Roundhouse restaurant stands at the base of this chairlift. From the terminal the lift runs about a kilometer south, up to the higher slopes of the resort.

The foreground is the lower end of the lift, with boarding gates in front of the hooded terminal. Groves of spruce and aspen line the right side of the basin, and the towers carry the cable up the open slope to the skyline.
