Weather and time
This view shows a double-pole tower of the Sterling Express chairlift with its haul ropes and chairs high on the Deer Valley hillside. The ground falls away beyond the line toward clusters of buildings and the wide Park City valley.
Sterling Express is a four-person high-speed detachable chairlift on Bald Mountain, built by Doppelmayr in 2006 to replace an older Sterling lift from 1982. It is about 1,430 meters long and climbs roughly 400 meters, from about 2,470 meters near Silver Lake Lodge to about 2,865 meters at the top.
On the autumn daytime frames the slope is bare, with dry grass, gravel and a dirt track in front, trail signs beside a fir tree at the right and layered ridges fading into haze. Chairs hang from the ropes beside the tower, and the high position shows how far the terrain drops toward the valley.
