Sakura Machi and Hanabata Square, Kumamoto Live Cam

A high view across Hanabata Square in central Kumamoto takes in the terraced, garden-covered front of the Sakura Machi Kumamoto complex. A curved glass tower rises on the left, and wooded hills line the horizon.

Sakura Machi Kumamoto opened in 2019 and combines a bus terminal on the ground floor with shops, a cinema, a hotel and the Kumamoto-jo Hall event venue. Trees grow along its stepped terraces, and a garden covers the roof. Hanabata Square opened in 2021 as the open space of the same redevelopment, and markets and other events are regularly held there.

The camera looks over the square from a high point on the opposite side, so the whole terraced facade fits into one frame. A low dark-roofed pavilion and a large car park fill the lower right, while tents and trucks gather on the turf when an event is being set up.
