Hanabatake Square, Kumamoto Live Cam

A large terraced complex with garden-covered levels faces an open lawn square in the Sakuramachi area of central Kumamoto. A tram stop and a wide road run along the right side of the square, and mountains rise on the horizon.

The lawn is Hanabatake Square, a public park in the city centre next to the Sakuramachi complex, with a car park on its far side and a low grey-roofed pavilion at the corner. A curved glass tower with balconies stands on the left, and large trees grow on the right. The grounds of Kumamoto Castle are a short walk from here.

The camera looks down from a rooftop, so the crossing, the lawn and the tram tracks are all visible. Trucks, tents and small stages appear on the lawn at times, and buses pass on the road in front. The framing shifts a little during the day, but the main view stays on the square.
