Giraffe Paddock, Kumamoto City Zoo Live Cam

This camera overlooks the Masai giraffe paddock at Kumamoto City Zoo and Botanical Garden in Kumamoto, Japan. Several giraffes walk across the gravel yard and along the railings.

The zoo stands in Higashi Ward on the edge of Lake Ezu, and the giraffe paddock lies right beside the elephant area. The yard is ringed by white metal railings, with patches of grass on the gravel, and a pale barn stands at the left edge of the frame. Beyond the fence a service road runs past tall trees of the zoo grounds, so the animals are seen against green foliage.

The camera is fixed high above the railing and shows almost the whole paddock at once. During the day the giraffes stand near the barn, graze at the ground cover or stride across the middle of the yard, and at times the paddock is empty.
