Lake Tateshina, Chino Live Cam

This camera looks across Lake Tateshina in Chino, Nagano Prefecture, toward Mount Tateshina and the Kita-Yokodake ridge. Open water fills the lower half of the frame, edged by reeds in the foreground, with forested hills on the far shore.

Lake Tateshina lies on the Tateshina highland at an elevation of about 1,230 meters. The summit of Mount Tateshina, about 2,530 meters high, is roughly 7 km north-northeast of the shore where the camera stands. Houses and a few larger buildings line the far side of the lake, while the near bank stays natural.

The camera is fixed and faces north-northeast, so the cone-shaped summit of Mount Tateshina appears near the centre of the horizon and the long ridge of Kita-Yokodake lies to its right. Clouds over the peaks and their reflections on the water change the picture through the day.
