Tateishi Park Access Road, Suwa Live Cam

This camera watches a hairpin bend on the road leading up to the Tateishi Park parking lot in Suwa, Nagano. The wide-angle view shows the asphalt curve, a guardrail, a utility pole and trees along the slope.

Tateishi Park sits on a hillside in Kamisuwa, about 1.5 km northeast of the city center. The last stretch of the access road is narrow and hard to turn around on, and the city warns that on holidays, and on weekdays after 16:00, traffic jams can make the trip up take over an hour. Stopping or parking along the road is not allowed, and during long holidays traffic staff ask private cars to take a detour.

Unlike the parking lot camera, this one looks east along the road and does not show the lake. It is useful for seeing whether the bend is clear, wet or busy with cars before heading up.
