Shirane Interchange West Intersection, Minami-Alps Live Cam

This camera overlooks the intersection west of Shirane Interchange from the Michi-no-Eki Shirane roadside station in Minami-Alps. A raised highway viaduct spans the whole frame, with a low mountain ridge behind it.

Michi-no-Eki are roadside rest stops built along Japanese highways, and this one stands beside the Shirane Interchange of the Chubu-Odan Expressway. The road through the crossing is signed locally as Alps-dori. Wide lanes, marked pedestrian crossings and a red-surfaced lane at the far corner give the junction a spacious layout, and large trucks pass through it.

The camera looks down from the station grounds, so the domed roof of the building and a leafy tree fill the lower foreground while the approach lanes stay visible from above.
