Weather and time
This camera looks north along the Fujikawa Kaido road across the Midai River bridge, from Minami-Alps toward Nirasaki. A wide gravel riverbed lies below, with a long mountain range on the horizon.
The Midai River rises in the Southern Alps and joins the Kamanashi River, and it has a long reputation as a flood-prone stream that Takeda Shingen is said to have tamed with embankments. Its bed is broad and mostly gravel, with thin channels of water between the bars. The bridge carries the old National Route 52 corridor over the river and across the boundary between the two cities.
The camera sits at the near end of the bridge and looks straight down the carriageway, so the road narrows toward distant buildings while the railings cast their shadows onto the gravel riverbed.
