Matsumoto Airport Parking Lot 2, Nagano Live Cam

This elevated view looks over the second car park of Shinshu Matsumoto Airport, a free parking lot near the airport in Nagano Prefecture. Rows of parked cars fill the asphalt, while a band of trees in the foreground and a grass field beyond frame the lot.

Matsumoto Airport lies about nine kilometres southwest of central Matsumoto. At 657.5 metres above sea level it is the highest airport in Japan. It opened in 1965 and has a single 2,000-metre runway. Parking is free: about 300 spaces face the terminal, and this second lot outside the airport grounds adds another 220.

Unlike the runway camera of the same airport, this one shows no aircraft, only the car park, so the image tells how many spaces are still free before setting off for a flight. In mid-October the trees below the camera turn yellow and red.
