Old Town Square, Frýdlant v Čechách Live Cam

The market square at Frýdlant is ringed by burgher houses in the far north of the Czech Republic, close to the Polish border. The webcam looks over it from the town hall.

The castle above the town gave Albrecht von Wallenstein his title. He bought the estate in 1622, was made Duke of Friedland, raised an army for the emperor, and was murdered twelve years later on suspicion of changing sides.

His descendants opened the castle to visitors in 1801, which makes it arguably the oldest castle museum in central Europe. The square below is named after Masaryk and carries a fountain and a statue in the middle.
