Old Fort Niagara, USA Live Cam

Old Fort Niagara stands where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario, and it lies below this webcam in New York State. The stone French Castle stands on the right, earthworks run along the shore, and a freighter crosses the open lake beyond.

The French Castle was built in 1726 as a fortified trading house disguised as a residence, and it is one of the oldest buildings in this part of North America. The fort passed from France to Britain to the United States, and the earth bastions around it date from those wars.

On clear days the towers of Toronto show across the lake, about sixty kilometres north. Reenactments are held on the grass in the frame through the summer.
