Sanxia Old Street, North Section Live Cam

This view looks north along the northern section of Sanxia Old Street in New Taipei, past red-brick arcades with rounded arches. The dragon-decorated roof of a temple rises above the shopfronts on the left, and apartment blocks stand at the far end.

Sanxia grew around an eighteenth-century river port and traded in camphor, tea and dyed cloth. Local residents rebuilt the shophouses of Minquan Street in the 1910s with brick arches and Baroque-style relief panels. The Qingshui Zushi Temple stands just east of the northern end of the street.

Fixed on the east side, the camera faces the northern end, where the lane meets busier roads. The nearby arcades show their decorated parapets and the shops beneath them. A second camera at the same point looks south.
