Weather and time
This view from Higashi-Yotsugi in Katsushika, Tokyo, looks southwest across the Arakawa River towards Tokyo Skytree. The tower rises near the left edge of the frame, above low-rise rooftops and an elevated expressway that crosses the middle distance.
Higashi-Yotsugi is a residential district east of the Arakawa River, about 3.5 km northeast of the tower. Completed in 2012 in the Oshiage area of Sumida, Tokyo Skytree is 634 metres tall and the tallest structure in Japan. The Central Circular Route of the Shuto Expressway runs on piers beside the river.
The camera is fixed, so the tower keeps its place in the frame all day. On clear days, especially in winter, the snowy peak of Mount Fuji shows on the horizon to the right of the tower. After dark the illuminated tower stands out against the night sky.
