Olifants River, Balule Live Cam

A camera on the bank of the Olifants River in Balule Nature Reserve, Limpopo, looks across the water to a sandy far shore. Rocks, bare red soil and riverside trees line the near bank, and wooded hills rise beyond the bend.

The Olifants River flows from Mpumalanga through Kruger National Park and on into Mozambique, and Balule shares an unfenced border with the park. Naledi Game Lodge, which runs this camera, has its Enkoveni camp on the river bank. Tall riverine trees grow along the water, in contrast to the lower bushveld away from the river.

The view changes during the day. A wide shot of the bank and the river bend alternates with close views of the riverside trees and zoomed views of hippos in the water. The wide river view is the main one and best shows the sandy far shore and the hills.
