Jabulani Dam, Kapama Live Cam

This camera looks over a dam near Jabulani lodge in the Kapama Private Game Reserve close to Hoedspruit in Limpopo, South Africa. Muddy water fills the left of the frame, with a bare bank on one side and thick bush on the other.

Kapama lies on the R40 between Hoedspruit and Klaserie in the Greater Kruger region, and Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport is about 7 km from the lodge. Jabulani grew out of a project to care for a rescued elephant herd, and the lodge is still home to that elephant herd.

The camera views the dam from the shore, with a curve of pale sandy bank in the foreground, trees behind the far side of the water and a blue mountain ridge on the horizon. The framing stays the same through the day, so only the light, the colour of the water and any animals that come down to drink change.
