Weather and time
Six webcam views share one frame in this multicam from the Greater Kruger area in Mpumalanga, South Africa. The tiles cover a waterhole, a dry riverbed, open bush and a hide, and animals appear in one panel or another.
Kruger covers about 19,500 square kilometres and has no fence along its western boundary with the private reserves, so game moves freely between them. Elephant, buffalo, antelope and the cats that follow them all come to water, which is why so many of the tiles point at it.
The dry winter concentrates animals at the few remaining waterholes; after the summer rains they scatter and the panels can stay empty for hours. Infrared keeps the water in view through the night.
